You've probably seen cute bunny logos on personal care and household cleaning products with the claim, "Cruelty-Free." But do you know what these logos actually mean?
Many brands have crafted their own custom bunny logos (even us!) to fit their branding aesthetic. However, without third-party certification, it's hard for consumers to know which brands truly adhere to Cruelty-Free standards.
So, we need to look for companies that are certified to have met a list of cruelty-free standards, signed legal attestations, and submitted supporting documentation to ensure compliance.
Two main organizations handle Cruelty-Free certifications for cosmetics and personal care products: the PETA Beauty without Bunnies program and the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics' (CCIC) Leaping Bunny Program. Their official logos are as follows:
BiotechBeauty is certified by the CCIC as Leaping Bunny Approved, and is certified by PETA as Cruelty-Free and Vegan! We've created high-performance makeup that improves your skin health over time with the help of biotech beauty ingredients, so we don’t ever compromise the health and safety of animals along the way.
Now, you know what to look for when shopping for certified Cruelty-Free products. Hop to it!
XO,
BiotechBeauty
