Rhode claims to be “[d]eveloped with award-winning dermatologists, chemists and industry leaders'' and “designed to bring visible benefits.” We love to see the shift toward science in makeup, but Rhode doesn’t demonstrate clinically-proven results of their skincare actives in this product. Sure, brands can use research-backed ingredients, but who’s to say those ingredients are included at effective levels if there’s no science to back up those claims? See why clinical testing is important here.
We love Rhode’s inclusion of peptides in their blush, but the only clinical testing results they show are that the color is long-lasting and that users “perceived” to have positive application and wear—not that there were any objective, instrument-based analyses that show any peptide-related improvements in the skin.
Finally, we give kudos to Rhode for using 50% PCR in their plastic packaging.
